Q: Where do the surf lessons take place?

Most of our surf lessons take place at Praia do Pego, in Comporta, where Imagine Surf School is based (map here).However, depending on ocean and swell conditions, lessons may also take place at other nearby beaches, such as Praia da Comporta, Praia Atlântica or Praia da Aberta Nova.This flexibility allows our instructors to always choose the beach with the best and safest conditions for your surf lesson.

As aulas de surf para principiantes são ministradas na Praia do Pego, em Comporta, e são adequadas para alunos a partir dos 6 anos de idade.

Os alunos são incentivados a atingir alguns objetivos, mas sempre num ambiente muito descontraído e divertido.

Os objetivos a atingir pelos alunos destas aulas são:

Transportar a prancha de surf;
Aprender e respeitar todas as regras de segurança;
Aprender a realizar exercícios de aquecimento;
Aprender a técnica de Take-Off (ficar em pé na prancha);
Posição de base;
Tentar apanhar ondas e cortar para a esquerda ou para a direita na espuma.

Why Choose Private Surf Lessons?

Private surf lessons are the best option if you want fast progression and full attention from your coach.

In this lesson format, your instructor focuses entirely on you: your level, your goals and your learning pace.

In the case of beginning and progressing students, the private surf coach starts by assessing the student’s level, what are their strengths and what are their weaknesses. From this moment on, the trainer draws a training plan 100% adapted to the student’s characteristics, so that each one can evolve within his abilities.

For advanced and independent surfers, the lesson also begins with an individual assessment, but with a stronger focus on technical detail and performance. The goal is to identify what the surfer is already doing well, where there is room for improvement, and how to refine technique more effectively. When relevant, video analysis may also be used to review each wave in detail, helping the student understand mistakes more clearly and progress with greater awareness.
