We offer surfing lessons for every level, from complete beginners to advanced surfers.
Beginner Surf Lessons
Surf lessons for beginners are given at Pego Beach, in Comporta, and are suitable for students from 6 years of age. Students are encouraged to achieve some goals, but always in a very relaxed and fun environment.
Intermediate Surf Lessons
The progression / intermediate level is indicated for students who feel comfortable cutting waves and who want to learn more surfing maneuvers. These surf lessons are usually sought by students willing to evolve their surfing techniques.
Advanced Surf Lessons
Advanced surf lessons are for students to evolve to a high performance level where each wave that the student catches is analyzed so that they can check what their mistakes are and where they can improve.

Where do the surf lessons take place?
Most of our group surf lessons take place at Praia do Pego, in Comporta, where Imagine Surf School is based (map here).
However, depending on ocean and swell conditions, lessons may also take place at other nearby beaches, such as Praia da Comporta, Praia Atlântica or Praia da Aberta Nova.
This flexibility allows our instructors to always choose the beach with the best and safest conditions for your surf lesson.
How many people are in a group surf lesson?
There is no strict maximum number of people in a group lesson, as what matters most is the instructor-to-student ratio. We always keep our groups small, with a maximum of 4 to 5 students per instructor, or 3 students per instructor in the case of children under 10.
This ensures safety, individual attention and better progression during the lesson.
Are group surf lessons suitable for beginners?
Yes. Our group surf lessons are suitable for complete beginners as well as intermediate and more experienced surfers.
Each lesson is adapted to the level of the group, so you can learn safely and progress at your own pace.
Are group surf lessons safe?

What happens if the weather or ocean conditions are not good?
If a surf lesson is cancelled due to weather or ocean conditions, you will be offered the option to reschedule your lesson or receive a full refund.
